Maria Menounos

Maria discovered she had medical issues of her own while she cared for her mother, who had stages 4 brain tumors. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. She tells PEOPLE that she was experiencing headaches, lightheadedness and nausea since February 2014. "My speech became disorganized. Additionally, I was having trouble using the Teleprompter." A MRI discovered that Menounos suffered from a large golf ball-sized meningioma brain tumor, which was pressing on her facial nerves. Menounos had an appointment scheduled with her mother's doctor, the renowned Neurosurgeon Dr. Keith L. Black, and they scheduled surgery for June 8th, her 39th birthday. "He advised me, 'I'm 99 percent sure it's benign but we won't know until we're there at the time of surgery,'" she says. After the lengthy surgery that took about seven hours the doctor. Black was able to get rid of 99.9 percent of the tumour. This was benign. "He advised that there's about an eight to seven percent likelihood that we'll have it be back again," she says. These odds are my best bet. Menounos is admitted to hospital for 6 days, is currently at home at home and has been spending recuperating. Maria Maria Maria
